Today June 19, South London rapper Kwengface makes a powerful return with his brand-new single and video, Parallel Theory’, the fourth release from his forthcoming EP, ‘Victim of Circumstance', dropping Friday, June 20. Following the momentum of three standout singles, 2 Summers, 2 Conspiracies’ and Ready Set Go, Kwengface continues to solidify his place at the forefront of UK drill and rap, turning up the anticipation for his new project. The new single, ‘Parallel Theory’, stands as a poignant meditation on alternate realities, what life could have been if circumstances had been different. Painting vivid pictures of missed moments, fatherhood, and historical struggle, Kwengface channels deep socio-political awareness through poetic storytelling.

The ‘Victim of Circumstance’ EP takes its name from a phrase given to Kweng by government authorities, a term he’s reclaimed to reflect the systemic and personal challenges he’s faced. Speaking on the project title Kweng said ‘they said to me, you’re just a victim of circumstance, it stuck with me because I’ve felt like that my whole life.’ Across the EP, Kweng is razor-sharp, reflective, and self-assured, exploring themes of growth, missed opportunities, and personal evolution. With over 900,000 monthly listeners, his authenticity continues to resonate widely.  Tracks like 2 Summers’ speak to the toll of incarceration - missing major performances like Wireless and Glastonbury - while ‘Ready Set Go’, produced by DeeKay, channels his love of anime and gaming with a sample from Sonic the Hedgehog. He references beloved series like Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and Blue Lock, blending childhood nostalgia with raw storytelling. On ‘Two Conspiracies’, Kweng unpacks the contradictions of street life and legal consequences, name-checking peers like LD while examining loyalty and justice. The single showcases his range as a writer and his drive to move beyond drill into other genres.

Emerging from Peckham, Kwengface began his musical journey at just 12 years old. A core member of the revered drill collective Zone 2, he quickly gained attention for his sharp lyricism and relentless energy. His 2018 release 3 Stripes remains a UK drill classic. However, his rise has not been without challenges: his controversial single No Censor’ was pulled from YouTube, resulting in show cancellations and legal consequences that nearly derailed his career. Undeterred, Kwengface made a major comeback with 2021’s YPB: Tha Come Up and a viral ‘Plugged In’ freestyle, followed by 2022’s acclaimed YPB: The Archive and standout performances, including a triple Daily Duppy. Over the years Kweng has collaborated with Giggs, Snoop Dog, Chase and Status, Ms Banks, Backroad Gee, Mneilia, SL, Knucks, and Lancey Foux to name a few. In 2023, he revealed his identity for the first time in a groundbreaking COLORS performance, this track was remixed into ‘Freedom 2’ by Joy Orbison and Overmono, becoming the stand out track of the summer and currently sitting at over 12M streams, a major moment made bittersweet by his incarceration at the time. Now free and more focused than ever, Kwengface has turned adversity into fuel, dropping the 14-track A Gangster’s Holiday in early 2024 and collaborating with UK heavyweights like Dizzee Rascal, Digga D, Marnz Malone, George the Poet, and Tiggs The Author.

At 26, Kweng has embraced growth, spirituality, and deep self-reflection. Fatherhood has brought a renewed focus, driving him to be more present and committed to personal evolution. During his time incarcerated, he reconnected with his purpose and turned to Islam, marking a powerful shift in both his life and music. Stepping boldly into the next chapter of his career, Kweng made a bold return and demonstrated his pull with a Notion Magazine cover, and a freestyle performance on Mak10’s freestyle platform. His commitment to giving back is just as strong, he partnered with Peckham Soup Kitchen and Link Up TV to support his community, distributing football kits to young athletes taking part in trials at Stormzy’s Merky FC academy. With ‘Victim of Circumstance’, Kweng reclaims his narrative and reaffirms his place as one of the most authentic and versatile voices in UK music today. The project drops Friday, June 20 on all platforms. Watch the video for ‘Parallel Theory’ now.
