Hot rapper Travy asks for forgiveness on new track “Forgive Me”

Travy - Forgive Me [Official Music Video]

Nigerian-born, Irish-based rapper Travy releases first single, ‘Forgive Me’ from his forthcoming mixtape due in December. Travy (FKA TraviS) re-instates his position as the most exciting voice in Irish rap, blending American club Hip-Hop, British Grime, and the feel-good vibes of Nigerian Highlife into something intoxicatingly unique. ‘Forgive Me’ shifts through moods, taking us on a menacing journey that is complimented by a cinematic black-and-white video, directed by Sam Fallover. The track is his first solo release following his history-making project’s DOGHOUSE and Full Circle - featuring close-collaborator Elzz - which reached No.1 and No.2 on the Irish Official Albums chart. With co-signs from Jordan Adetunji, Len, Sainte, Strandz and more, Travy is quickly becoming your favourite rappers, favourite rapper.

Travy’s father, a general in the Nigerian Army, relocated his family to Dublin in search of a better life, though he would stay behind to continue his military service in Nigeria.  Feeling alienated from his home – physically, familially, and spiritually – Travy found solace in a relic from his childhood: his dad’s iPod Nano. Travy fondly remembers the moment he fell in love with rap music. Having run off with the iPod, he stumbled upon 50 Cent’s 2003 classic, Get Rich or Die Tryin. After becoming obsessed with 50’s storytelling, Travy knew he was destined for a career in hip hop. During his teens, he gained attention almost by accident, freestyling at parties and realising his potential. When Travy and Gliders collaborator Elzzz dropped ‘Full Circle in 2023 (which peaked at No.2 in The Irish OCC), the Dublin rising star began to take his rap career seriously. He and Elzzz upped the ante on their 2024 project ‘DOGHOUSE’.  Breakout single “Blockbuster” propelled Travy’s rise, earning him No.1 in the official Irish Charts. As Travy begins this next chapter in his thrilling journey, he has the chance to put a whole city and country on his back, and he doesn’t take that lightly. In Dublin, Travy has fostered a community of like-minded artists, a collective now known as Gliders a multi-purpose collective that operates as a brand and lifestyle. In addition to Tiffany Calver, Rejie Snow, and Maverick Sabre, he has garnered support from publications such as CULTED and Complex

This month, Travy is in New York ahead of Fashion Week, engaging in studio sessions before returning for London’s Fashion Week. With a new project on the horizon, Travy looks to expand his reputation beyond Ireland with an exciting run of music, merch and showcases in the pipeline before the end of 2024.
