Italian luxury fashion house Prada collaborated with multidisciplinary artist Theaster Gates for Prada Mode at MiZa.

“Prada presented the eleventh iteration of Prada Mode at MiZa, in Mina Zayed, Abu Dhabi.

This edition marked Prada’s latest collaboration and third iteration of Prada Mode with multidisciplinary artist Theaster Gates. The event reaffirmed themes of minimalism and analogue aesthetics amidst contemporary digital culture, featuring an architectural intervention that divided the space into two distinct sonic and tonal realms.

The cultural programming, curated by Myrna Ayad, showcased local and regional talent, emphasizing the intelligence, creativity, and contributions of Arab women. Across two days, guests engaged in discussions such as “Honoring Tradition, Celebrating Modernity” and “The Power of the Matriarch”, alongside interactive Al-Sadu weaving workshops—a UNESCO-recognized Bedouin weaving tradition.

Live performances by artists such as Nancy Mounir, musicians of Noura Mint Seymali x Aïta Mon Amour, and DJs Yas Meen Selectress, Nooriyah, and Deena Abdelwahed provided a sonic backdrop to the immersive experience. The event concluded with an exclusive celebration honoring the intersection of art, culture, and contemporary thought.”
